Capacity Foundation

With TIER and Rebuy, Lawrence Leuschner has proven that entrepreneurship can change systems. With the Capacity Foundation, he is now doing the same for nature. Mission One: The Shield – an AI-powered satellite monitoring system that warns indigenous communities in the Amazon in real time about illegal deforestation, mining, and land grabbing.

The Challenge
Capacity Foundation is based in Switzerland and can issue donation receipts there. However, German-speaking donors – a key target audience for an initiative centered around COP30 and the global biodiversity crisis – cannot deduct their donations from tax.
At the same time, the team is small and the mission is big. There is no time for complex structures and no budget for administrative overhead. Furthermore, the donation flow has to integrate organically into the existing website – in English and in their own design.
The Solution
Capacity uses bcause as a tax-recognized fiduciary solution for the German market:
Donation receipts under German law are issued directly by bcause – without Capacity needing its own German non-profit status.
The bcause donation form is multilingual and fully embedded into the English Capacity website – making it feel like a natural part of the online presence, not like a foreign body.
The collected funds earn interest while they are in the bcause account – and are transferred to Capacity as and when the team needs them. No loss of return due to liquidity buffers.
The Result
German donors can now support The Shield with tax-deductible contributions. Capacity does not have to worry about German bureaucracy. And the donation form on capacity.eco/thechiefs works so smoothly that no moment is lost between the impulse and the donation.
