Inheritance

Assets that are transferred to another person or organization after a person's death, whether through a will or legal succession laws. Inheritances can also be donated to non-profit organizations, which can provide a tax benefit. An example is the Gates Foundation, which is partially funded by inheritances from the family fortune.
